Nava Frenkel, born in Jerusalem 1979, creates works for the stage. Graduate of the School of Visual Arts in jerusalem and holds a BA in psychology and in Jewish philosophy. Teaches directing and performance in the ‘Minshar’ art academy, the ,’Kelim’ choreography school, the Jerusalem Academy of Dance and the School of Visual Arts. As an author- an associate in a book researching Israeli dance founded by the ‘Kelim’ group, which deals with defining models of creative processes. Guides young artists as part of the ‘Toolbox’ project and at the Kibbutzim collage. One of the managers of the ‘Voice of the Word’ festival 2011 at the ‘Hazira’ – Performance Art Arena Jerusalem. A member of the independent theatre artists association, and the choreographers association. Among her latest works: “Palm Tree”, “Down to Earth”, “Now and Never”, and more. Her piece “Little Freedom” (2009) won the promising artist award at the Acco Festival of Alternative Theatre, “The Skeleton Woman”, a stop-motion animation film in partnership with Gili Godiano, was shown in animation festivals in Seoul, Munich, Milan, and Haifa (2008). She received the Mayor of Jerusalem award for her work “Calculating The End” (2007) and the America-Israel Cultural Foundation award for her pieces “Three Four” and “Yonatna” (2005)
